PCB (Printed Circuit Board) Engineering Technician - Apprenticeship

Overview

Due to significant growth and expansion to our existing business the above individual is sought by NCAB Group UK based at our offices at Lancing West Sussex within the Engineering Department. The individual will report to the Engineering Manager.

During the entry level apprenticeship you will gain workplace knowledge and skills by working directly with experienced mentors who guide your development.

Job Description

Role & Responsibilities:

  • You will experience of working with Gerber data and PCB manufacturing
  • You will experience a solid experience of PCB  Based CAM software ie.Valor Genesis 2000 / CAM 350 & with the ability to read complex drawings and validate customer specifications. 
  • You will be responsible for liaising with customers understanding their PCB requirements.
  • You will be responsible for advising customers on their requirements, finalising PCB specifications and design and sending them to manufacture.

  • Advise customers on their needs and offer full service eg. Cost cutting etc.

Required Experience & Qualifications:

  • Strong commercial awareness
  • Critical Thinking
  • Strength In Math & English
  • Sales experience an advantage particularly within the PCB sector
  • Experience of working within a team
  • Able to work under pressure in a very fast paced environment
  • Work scheduling experience preferred.
  • Highly motivated with excellent organisational and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of Company systems and procedures.
  • Computer literate.

    Quality

    • Processing of customer admin and quality claims in accordance with NCAB UK procedures and work instructions.
    • Maintaining a complaints and issues register for quality and admin claims.
    • Create and maintain CRM software projects for customer quality complaints.
    • Liaising with both customers and factories via email, phone and conferencing.
    • Use of in-house laboratory to conduct verification and inspection of printed circuit boards (training provided).
    • Optical and mechanical inspection of printed circuit boards (as / when requested)
    • Prepare and arrange return of printed circuit boards to customers and factories.
    • Independently manage low level quality investigations.

  • £18,000 annual salary

  • Pension – the company shall pay pension contributions at a rate of 4% of the gross basic salary as referred to in Clause 6.1 of the employment contract. (To be issued on agreement 3 months after the start date and confirmation of termination from previous employment). (Min 5% employee contribution)
  • 25 days holiday plus statutory leave days
  • Working hours:
    • Monday to Friday 8.00am – 16.30pm
