PCB-Field Application Engineer/Technical Sales Support, Largo, FL.

This is different, we are not looking for an engineer, we are not looking for a sales professional. Here is the scenario and what we are looking for. You will regularly attend customer design review meetings and provide technical design and product support for customers who may be Electronic Manufacturing Services/Contract Manufacturers or OEMs.  You will have a solid engineering background and enjoy being part of the sales team. You can converse with your technical acumen as part of our sales team to assist on closing sales deals. After your on-boarding you will understand the company specific factory capabilities and provide insightful and detailed printed circuit board design solutions for prospective customers.

In this exciting new role you will complete pre-production engineering for existing designs including developing array configurations to meet customer requirements and other front-end engineering and tooling requirements to prepare a part number package for production. You will present design solutions to customer and inside teams, utilizing a variety of design evaluation techniques including DfX tools, thermal, impedance and specialty materials modeling, cost / materials and process trade-offs, etc. 

How will you be effective? 

It will be due to your ability to review PCB drawings, Gerber files and other information provided to generate specification guidelines for existing designs.

Due to our existing and potential customer base, In this role you will have the ability travel to customer locations throughout USA and some overseas travel

What you will bring with you?

  • You are self-starter able to work with minimal direct supervision.
  • Your ability to work with and become a partner with the sales team
  • Understanding of PCB CAD layout software and current layout techniques including microBGA, HDI design and LED/thermal design
  • Familiarity with Genesis, CAM 350, impedance modeling, SPICE and thermal modeling tools
  • Technical expertise required to take a PCB schematic through layout,  NPI development process and into full production with the goal to optimize the design from the standpoint of DfM, DfA and DfT requirements.
  • Ability to work with cross-functional teams, promoting the project within the organization focused on team success
  • Good communication skills, both oral and written.
  • AA degree in electrical engineering preferably in PCB design
  • We would like to see you bring 2- 3 years experience in a similar position such as PCB production,field applications engineering, PCB pre-production engineering, PCB manufacturing R&D technician
  • Experience/knowledge in PCB manufacturing processes preferred
  • Must have a current US Passport and able to travel both domestically and globally.
